Weekly sales report by DNJournal

February 13th, 2008 Posted in Domain Sales

Every week DNJournal posts a weekly sales report of all the highest confirmed domain sales during that week. All domain sales are verified by Ron Jackson, the editor, before being published. The list can be quite large sometimes and I thought I’d pick out just a few of the notable sales for each week.

Bookmarks.com - $300k - With all the buzz around these “social bookmarking” sites nowadays, this seemed like a good buy, despite the seemingly high price tag. Sites such as Del.icio.us and Stumble Upon have shown that they can attract tons of visitors to a well-developed social bookmarking system.

Cobwebs.com - $5k - I’m not sure what exactly this could be used for but it seems like a great price for a one word noun .com domain. There are a lot of possibilities with this one.

WebDevelopment.net - $2k - Even though this one is a .net, this seems like a total steal to me. I’m sure some web development company would love to get their hands on a name like this.

Video.us - $18k - I feel bad for the person who paid $75k for this domain just a few months ago, and let it expire.

That’s about it, check out the full list of domain sales and commentary at DNJournal’s weekly domain sales. Archives are also available here.
