Domaining and Webmaster Forums
NamePros - NamePros is probably the largest and best domain forum on the net. It doesn’t charge any fees whatsoever for memberships or listings. The members are very courteous and helpful, for the most part. It isn’t strictly a domain forum, and also features rich discussion on various aspects of web development, such as programming, web design, and web hosting. NamePros also doubles as a full featured domain registrar (a reseller of Enom), which you pay for names with either domain credit or their forum currency of NP$.
DNForum - Some people regard DNForum a more serious domain forum, since it has paid memberships. A Gold membership will allow you to post domains up for appraisal, post domain wanted ads, and respond to domain wanted ads. It’ll cost you about $15. A Platinum membership will allow you to post in the Platinum Forums, which include the domain marketplace, and private Platinum lounge. That’s not it! There is also an Exclusive forum for “Big Money Sales” and “Advanced SEO” among other generally useless forums. An Exclusive membership is generally regarded by most domainers as a big waste of money, and will cost you about $400 if you choose to sign up anyway.
Digital Point Forums - This forum is more targetted toward search optimization and marketing rather than domains themselves. In fact, most of the members here have very little knowledge of domains and only look at domains from a SEO perspective. Digital Point still offers a vibrant marketplace for developed websites, and is a great place to find content writers for your site. It’s recommended however that you sign up at NamePros for your newbie questions, if you happen to have any.
Domaining Tools
Just Dropped - An invaluable tool for finding recently dropped domains. It feautres an easy to understand search feature which lets you look up keyword domains that have dropped within certain time intervals. You can also search for domains set to drop in certain extensions for your choice of keyword.
All Drops - This is pretty much like Just Dropped, except it can search through many different sales venues and auction sites at once, not just recently deleted domains. TDNAM, NameJet, SnapNames, Afternic, they have it all.
PCNames - This site offers a plethora of domaining tools, all featuring Ajax technology. They have an instant domain checker similar to the one we have on this very site, and a name suggestion tool
DomainsBot - DomainsBot will take synonyms of words in your domain searches to find available alternatives, yet another invaluable tool when trying to find a new name.
